South Fulton Medical Center (SFMC) has provided skilled care for the South Fulton community, as well as the surrounding areas, since 1963 with its state-of-the-art facilities and skilled professionals. Part of Tenet, the 338- bed, acute care medical center is located just off I-85 in East Point and has an affiliated medical staff of more than 300. SFMC also employs 1,000 healthcare professionals and has an active auxiliary staff of over 100 persons.
The SFMC emergency room averages nearly 3,000 patients each month. In addition to emergency services, other specialties at SFMC include cardiac services, outpatient surgery services, rehabilitation services and outpatient imaging services such as MRI, CT, ultrasound, mammography, bone density and breast biopsy. The hospital also offers a senior care clinic, sleep disorders center and women’s health center.
Over the past few years, SFMC has undergone expansion and extensive renovations to keep it at the forefront of healthcare quality and service for the community. The medical center recently opened Camp Creek Imaging Center, conveniently located behind Camp Creek MarketPlace. The Imaging Center is a welcoming, patient-friendly facility that features digital mammography, digital ultrasound, digital x-ray and digital open MRI.
The South Fulton Chamber of Commerce offers access to group health insurance products, many at discounted premium rates, to member businesses. The Chamber does this through an association with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia and Purchasing Alliance Solutions, Inc. (PAS) through the MemberCare Alliance of South FultonSM program, joining with a statewide network of 120 Chambers of Commerce who use their large-group buying power to negotiate reduced premium rates for business members.
