Weather and Climate
South Fulton County experiences all four seasons.

Summers tend to be warm and humid with average afternoon high temperatures in the upper 80s to 90, with readings of 90 or higher for 30 to 60 days. Overnight lows normally range from the middle 60s to lower 70s.

Winter weather is characterized by stretches of mild weather alternate with cold spells. The high temperatures average in the 50s and the lows average in the mid to lower 30s. Lows of 32 degrees or less are reached on 50 to 70 days during the year.

Spring and autumn weather is variable. The average date of the first freeze is in late October and the average date of the last freeze is in early April.

A measurable amount of rain falls about 120 days, averaging annually between 50 and 55 inches. The driest months tend to be September and October, the wettest month is March. Thunderstorms are common in spring and summer. Snowfall occurs one to two days, if at all, with an annual average total of 1 to 2 inches.

• The highest recorded temperature was 105°F in 1980.
• The average coolest month is January.
• The lowest recorded temperature was -9°F in 1899.
• March is the average wettest month.
